On Monday, March 4, 2024, the Graph Virtual Seminar in Operations Research was held.

On Monday, February 12, 2024, the Network Virtual Seminar in Operations Research was held.
Scientists from the Warsaw School of Economics presented papers at the seminar:
• Dr. Przemyslaw Szufel – Scheduling and optimization of service technicians' routes in the sharing economy
• Dr. Sebastian Zajac – Quantum technologies in optimization tasks and machine learning

On Monday, January 15, 2024, under the honorary patronage of the Rector of the WSB Merito University in Poznan, the Rector of the Bialystok University of Technology, the Operational Research Section of KSiE PAN and the INFORMS Poland Chapter, the 30th Winter Virtual Seminar in Operational Research was held.

Scientists from the Poznan University of Life Sciences, the Institute of Rural Development and Agriculture of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin presented papers at the seminar:
• Ph.D. Aleksandra Luczak, prof. UEP (Poznan University of Life Sciences), Ph.D. Slawomir Kalinowski, prof. IRWIR PAN (Institute of Rural Development and Agriculture of the Polish Academy of Sciences) – No heating, only woe – about measuring (in)visible energy poverty
• Dr. Blazej Supron (West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin) – Use of dynamic ARDL models in research in the area of transport – research results on connections and relationships between road transport and CO2 emissions

This time the seminar took the form of a panel discussion on the topic: Operations research teaching at economic universities today and tomorrow. The session was chaired by prof. Tadeusz Trzaskalik from the Department of Operations Research at the University of Economics in Katowice.

On Monday, May 15, 2023, the Chestnut Virtual Seminar of Operations Research took place.

The seminar began with a celebration of the memory of Dr. Agata Gluzicka, a member of our scientific community dealing with operations research, who has participated in Virtual Operations Research Seminars many times, co-organized and actively participated in many MZBO and MPaR conferences. Dr Agata Gluzicka was remembered by prof. Ewa Roszkowska and prof. Maciej Nowak. Her kindness and kindness will remain in our memory.

• dr hab. Daniel Puciato, prof. PO - Socio-economic correlates of health-related quality of life in people living alone in Wrocław
• dr hab. Agnieszka Stanimir, prof. UEW - Growing environmental awareness and household financial burdens.
The duties of the moderator of the seminar discussion were undertaken by Professor Marek Nowinski. The ecological contexts of the presented papers sparked a stormy discussion with professors Jozef Stawicki, Jerzy Marcinkowski and Krzysztof Piasecki. In addition to comments on the presented results, the debaters shared their views on this vital issue. It is also worth noting that the subject matter of the presented papers indicates the broad spectrum of scientific research conducted in our Operational Research centers.

The seminar was organized by professor Krzysztof Piasecki and dr Anna Łyczkowska-Hanćkowiak from the WSB University in Poznan.

The next WSBO will be held on-line on December 21, 2020 at 17.00. During this seminar, employees of the Department of Applied Computer Science and Mathematics at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun will present the following lectures:

1.professor Sylwester Bejger - Machine learning in decision making,
2.professor Witold Orzeszko - Forecasting the covariance of rates of return using the Support Vector Machine,
3. professor Józef Stawicki - Diploma seminars on quantitative methods of economics and management - problems and experiences.
After his speech, Professor Józef Stawicki invites to a broad discussion on topics related to our diploma seminars.

The first Virtual Seminar on the Methods and Applications of Operations Research 2020 - "MZBO in the times of pestilence",

On Monday, October 12, 2020, the First Virtual took place Seminar on Methods and Applications of Operations Research 2020 - "MZBO in times of pestilence". The meeting, organized by the WSB University in Poznań, was held under the patronage of the Rector of WSB University in Poznań, professor Józef Orczyk, and the Committee of Statistics and Econometrics of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

The discussions began with a speech by the Rector, professor Józef Orczyk presenting the WSB University in Poznań and the emerging relations of the mainstream of the University's activity and quantitative methods supporting economy, finance and management.

During the seminar, there were two panel discussions on teaching quantitative items in COVID-19 conditions.

The first panel discussion was entitled “Learning content implemented under on-line conditions". The discussion was chaired by professor Krzysztof Piasecki from WSB in Poznań, a panel debaters were dr Grzegorz Tarczyński from the University of Economics in Wrocław, dr Przemysław Szufel from the Warsaw School of Economics and professor Tomasz Wachowicz from University of Economics in Katowice.

The second panel discussion was entitled "Forms of teaching implemented under on-line conditions”. The discussion was chaired by professor Ewa Roszkowska from the University of Białystok, and the panel participants were professor Marcin Anholcer from the University Economics in Poznań, professor Grzegorz Bejger from the Nicolaus Copernicus University and dr Radosław Jadczak from the University of Lodz.

The two panels were separated by a lecture: "University relations with the environment in conditions COVID 19 ”delivered by professor Tomasz Szapiro from the Warsaw School of Economics.

After the panel discussions, a meeting of the INFORMS Polish Section took place. Chaired by professor Bogumił Kamiński from the Warsaw School of Economics. Subjects of discussions were formal matters and the lecture "The use of robust optimization methods in protection against floods ", delivered by Dr. Krzysztof Postek of Delft University of Technology.

The whole Seminar ended with a meeting of the Operations Research Section Committee of Statistics and Econometrics of the Polish Academy of Sciences, chaired by the professor Tadeusz Trzaskalik.

The seminar was very popular. There were participated over 60 scientists and practitioners - representatives of academic centers from all over Poland and abroad. The following were represented: Delf University of Technology, Systems Research Institute of Polish Academy of Sciences, State Higher Vocational School in Suwalki, SGH Warsaw School of Economics, University of Economics in Katowice, University of Economics in Krakow, Poznan University of Economics and Business, Wroclaw University of Economics, University of Bialystok, University of Lodz, Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun, University of Opole, University of Szczecin, University of Silesia in Katowice, Bialystok University of Technology, Poznań University of Technology, Warsaw University of Technology, Wrocław University of Technology, Poznań University of Life Sciences, WSB University in Poznan.

The seminar was organized by professor Krzysztof Piasecki and dr Anna Łyczkowska-Hanćkowiak from the WSB University in Poznan and dr inż. Michał Stasiak from the University Economics in Poznan.

According to the participants opinion, the First MZBO Virtual Seminar fulfilled their expectations. Today we know that further such online scientific meetings will take place. We will call them 'Virtual Seminars of Opertions Research - WSBO'. Our seminars will be held under the patronage of the Operational Research Section of the Statistics and Econometrics Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

The coming November 16 this year at 5 pm we will be hosting our mates from Warsaw, who will present the results of their research.
